1:1 Training

1:1 Training Sessions

Clear guidance. Real understanding. Training that fits the dog in front of you.

Training a dog on your own can feel like trying to fix a noisy engine without knowing which part is rattling. Some days things click, other days it feels like you’re back at square one. And with the amount of conflicting advice out there, it’s no wonder people end up confused, stressed, or stuck.

That’s where 1:1 training makes a huge difference.
This is personal, practical support that’s tailored to you, your dog, and the life you’re actually living, not some idealised version of it.

These sessions aren’t about drilling obedience or forcing your dog to “comply.” They’re about helping both of you find clarity, confidence, and connection, so everyday life becomes easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Why Choose 1:1 Training?

Every dog is different. Every human is different. And every home has its own rhythm, stressors, and routines.

Some dogs need a calmer environment than a group class can offer.
Some owners want more time, more explanation, more support.
Some behaviours simply need dedicated attention.

1:1 training gives us the space to slow things down, understand what’s really going on, and build a plan that actually works not just one that looks good on paper.

These sessions are great for:

  • Recall that disappears the moment the lead comes off

  • Lead pulling that turns every walk into a battle

  • Jumping up, mouthing, stealing, or general chaos

  • Overexcitement and difficulty settling

  • Confidence-building for nervous or confused dogs

  • Everyday manners and better communication

If you’re feeling frustrated, unsure, or overwhelmed, you’re in the right place. There’s nothing wrong with your dog — they just need a clearer way to understand the world.

What our 1:1 sessions look like

1. A Relaxed Discovery Chat

Before anything else, we’ll sit down and have a straightforward, no-pressure conversation about your dog. I want to understand what life looks like at home, what challenges you’re facing, and what you’d love things to feel like instead. This is where I learn the story behind the behaviour: the emotions, the routines, and the small details that make your dog who they are. It sets us up with a clear direction before we even start working.

2. Getting the Foundations Right

Before we dive into hands-on work, we make sure the fundamentals are supporting your dog rather than working against them. We’ll look at the structure of your day, your dog’s enrichment, rest, exercise, nutrition, and the general rhythm of their routine. These aren’t throwaway details, they’re the backbone of behaviour. When the foundation is solid, everything else becomes easier and progress feels natural rather than forced.

3. Calm, Clear, Practical Coaching

Once the groundwork is in place, we move into practical sessions that take place where they make the most sense: at home, in the garden, or out in a quieter space. My role here isn’t to bark orders or chase perfection; it’s to guide you both through calm, achievable steps that build real understanding. We use reward-based methods to encourage the behaviours you want, and when emotions start to spill over, I’ll show you how to use gentle interruptions to help your dog reset without stress or friction. It’s steady, balanced, and always led by your dog’s emotional capacity.

4. Simple, Achievable Steps Between Sessions

Progress doesn’t come from cramming it comes from consistent, realistic practice. Between sessions, you’ll get clear, manageable steps that fit easily into your routine. No complicated worksheets, no overwhelming lists, just straightforward actions that move you forward and actually make sense in real life. These small, steady wins build momentum, confidence, and lasting change for both you and your dog.
